There seem to be lots of them around here. I see many egg cases (can't remember the technical name) when the leaves fall. I see their presence as assurance that things are going well in the garden, ecologically speaking.
Nice pics! Looks like she's ready to deposit and egg-sack somewhere! I was so excited to find a mantis in the garden last year, but haven't seen a single one this year :-( Oh well, maybe they are just better at hiding than I am at seeking!

ReplyDeleteThis is one insect I see a lot here. I really should learn more about them, and what their presence says about the state of the environment.
