You may want to contact the county cooperative extension or local master gardeners group, if there are such things in NJ. You may also want to contact Bartlett Tree Experts, they are nationwide and maybe they would do it gratis for the community exposure and potentially positive good press - particularly because of the tree's historic location.Leshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18281256160705697856noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20141337.post-46704133692986322252009-05-11T15:28:00.000-04:002009-05-11T15:28:00.000-04:00That tree's a stunner - must have been the week fo...That tree's a stunner - must have been the week for walks around the tombstones.Barbarapchttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09990013417063903768noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20141337.post-43543022159915084022009-05-10T09:33:00.000-04:002009-05-10T09:33:00.000-04:00Les, Growing up in Mississippi, I was used to seei...Les, Growing up in Mississippi, I was used to seeing quite large Redbuds. But they just don't get this large here, at least I thought they didn't. I'm afraid no one is looking after this one and I'm doubtful anyone has interest. We had a small grove of Franklinia alatamaha in nearby Sergeantsville a few years ago; they were destroyed to build "affordable housing." I'm sure no one knew what they were, but that probably wouldn't have mattered. Do you know of an organization that provides help saving valuable trees?James Goldenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12718058779971621920noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20141337.post-39261473174809756872009-05-10T09:28:00.000-04:002009-05-10T09:28:00.000-04:00Thank you, Garden Monkey.Thank you, Garden Monkey.James Goldenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12718058779971621920noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20141337.post-48275014143596707412009-05-10T06:57:00.000-04:002009-05-10T06:57:00.000-04:00What a remarkable tree. There is one in my neighbor on an infill lot about that size, but not that old. I am not sure how it survived having an unremarkable vinyl house built next to it.Leshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18281256160705697856noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20141337.post-39313370297986156992009-05-09T14:08:00.000-04:002009-05-09T14:08:00.000-04:00Amazing tree
